Make plans now to see the amazing performance of “Peter and the Starcatcher” opening this Friday (8/21/15) through Sunday, 9/13/15 at Solvang Festival Theater at 420 Second Street in downtown Solvang. This PCPA (Pacific Conservatory Theatre) production of this multi-Tony award-winning play that turns the century-old legend of Peter Pan upside down with a theatrical reboot of how a wretched orphan became “The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up.” Believe this–a dozen actors play more than 100 characters in this ingenious prequel. You don’t want to miss it! Especially while you can watch the stars onstage AND in the sky! Magic for sure! For details and tickets, visit http://www.pcpa.org/PeterandtheStarcatcher.html

It’s August already! With this warm, sunny weather we’re having, if you’re like me and my family, thoughts turn to the quintessential summer treat—ice cream! I think you’ll agree that Solvang has more ice cream shops and restaurants per capita serving this cool delight than most any other town our size. Fortunately, with so many places to indulge here, I recommend you stroll around and do some taste testing, then let us know your favorites—are you more of a traditional vanilla or chocolate fan or a cookies & cream, butterscotch or sherbet aficionado? And let’s not forget frozen yogurt and gelato, too!
It’s all here within a few short blocks! Yummy delights can be found at Solvang Trolley Ice Cream Parlor, Old Danish Food Farm, Kate’s Yogurt, Ingeborg’s Chocolates & Ice Cream Parlor and Café Dolce just to name a few. For delicious details, visit http://www.solvangusa.com/explore-solvang/dining/
